7 RADIO AWARD FINALISTS IN 2010

Bathurst Broadcasters have seven finalists in the 2010 Australian Commercial Radio Awards (ACRA’s). General Manager, Phil Cole says, “last year we had six finalists and with a relatively new line-up on both 2BS and B-Rock in 2010 the result is outstanding”.

Finalists are;

• Stephanie Borys – Brian White Memorial Journalistic Award – St. Vincents Hospital Closure
• Peter Harrison – Best News Presenter
• Andrea Moore – Best Show Producer – Talk Current Affairs
• Jacqueline Jeffrey – Best Direct Salesperson
• Noela Sikora – Best Community Service Project – The Christmas Miracle Appeal
• Nicolas “Cookie” Cook – Best Music Presenter
• The 2BS Race Team – Best Sports Event Coverage – The Supercheap Auto Bathurst 1000

The 2010 Australian Commercial Radio Awards will be presented at Crown Melbourne on Saturday, October 16^th. Friday, October 15^th a number of the 2BS / B-Rock staff members will be attending the National Radio Conference and the New Artists 2 Radio Showcase.

TO THE TEAM AT 2BS BATHURST

On behalf of the Chifley/Lithgow Volunteer Fire Fighters and Staff, I wish to thank you for your kind support at our recent inaugural “FireBall” held to acknowledge our volunteers and assist the Salvation Army. Your generous donations were well received and assisted in the event raising over $2,000 in profits, which will assist the Salvation Army cause in local initiatives. On Monday 28^th June prior to Monday night indoor Bowls at the Bathurst RSL Club, Muriel Colley Secretary of the Club presented to me on behalf of Bathurst Regional Council, Bathurst RSL Club Limited, Devro Pty Limited, Reliance Member Banking, 2BS/B-Rock a cheque for $350.00. Thanks for your best wishes on being selected to represent New South Wales Indoor Bowls at the Australian Indoor BIAS Bowls Championships at Shepparton in August 2010. Could you please forward on my letter to the above donors thanking them in supporting and providing me with a generous donation which is greatly appreciated. DEAR NOELA

I am writing to thank 2BS / B-Rock for the support they provided to Sing Australia Bathurst in the lead up to our Workshops in May this year. The Community Service Announcements and live interviews promoting the Workshops helped tremendously with the success of the evenings. The Bathurst Workshop had an attendance of over 40, and resulted in 10 new members for our group. The Orange Workshop which was attended by around 35 people, has resulted in the formation of a Sing Australia group in Orange.
